21:21 EDT Tuesday, May 20, 2008

MIDDLETOWN, Pa., May 20 /PRNewswire/ — Two tickets matched all six winning numbers, 03-04-15-26-31-49, in the May 20 MATCH 6 lotto drawing. Tuesday night’s winning jackpot is worth $987,321.00 each, less 25 percent federal withholding. It is the 44th MATCH 6 jackpot won since the game’s inception.

Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) officials cannot announce the identity of Tuesday’s MATCH 6 jackpot winner until a prize has been claimed and a ticket validated. The Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) encourages the holder of a winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, contact a financial adviser, and then contact Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) Headquarters, (717) 702-8146.

MATCH 6 jackpots must be claimed by presenting a winning ticket at Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) Headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of the Lottery’s seven regional offices located throughout the Commonwealth. Claims may be filed at Headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at regional Lottery offices.

The MATCH 6 jackpot returns to an estimated $500,000 for the Friday, May 23, drawing. Live, televised MATCH 6 drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 7 p.m., along with The Daily Number, BIG 4, and CASH 5.

How to play MATCH 6 lotto: Players receive three plays for $2. Players select six numbers from 1 to 49, or they may elect the quick-pick, computer-selection method for the first line of play. The PA Lottery quick-picks an additional two sets of six numbers from one to 49, for each play. This gives each player three lines of six numbers each, for a total of 18 numbers. MATCH 6 players can match winning numbers on one line or a combination of lines any of 11 different ways to win cash prizes. To win the jackpot — which starts at $500,000 and grows until it is hit — players must match all six numbers drawn in a single, horizontal line of play. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-4,661,272.3; overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-5.9.

About the Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery): The Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) remains the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds to programs that benefit older residents. MIDDLETOWN — More than half of the Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery)’s Millionaire Raffle tickets have been sold for the Dec. 29 drawing. Only 308,335 tickets remained as of Dec. 9.

The raffle-style game will offer 8,000 cash prizes worth more than $6.4 million when winners are drawn at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29. Sales of Millionaire Raffle tickets began Nov. 9 and are to continue until 5 p.m. on Dec. 29, or until all 625,000 tickets are sold, which ever comes first.

“Players continue to respond positively to our raffle games, and tickets for the Dec. 29 drawing make great holiday gifts for anyone 18 years of age or older,” said Lottery(palottery) Executive Director Ed Trees. “More than half of the tickets available for this game have sold in just four weeks, and with three weeks until the drawing, we expect the remaining tickets to sell quickly.”

Each of the game’s $20 tickets offers a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning $1 million – the best odds ever offered by the Pennsylvania Lottery(palottery) for winning a million dollars. The Dec. 29 Millionaire Raffle drawing will award five top prizes of $1 million cash; five $100,000 cash prizes; 200 prizes of $1,000 cash; and 7,790 prizes of $100 cash. A total of 8,000 prizes worth $6,479,000 will be awarded.

The winning raffle ticket numbers will be randomly selected at 7 p.m. on Dec. 29 when the Lottery(palottery)’s live drawing show will televise the selection of the five $1 million top-prize numbers and the five $100,000 second-prize numbers. The remaining 7,990 winning numbers for third and fourth prizes also will be selected, but will not be televised due to time constraints. A complete list of all 8,000 winning raffle ticket numbers will be available the following day on www.palottery.com and at Lottery retailers.

Trees reminded Millionaire Raffle players to sign the back of each ticket and keep tickets in a safe place until the Dec. 29 drawing. To be considered a winning ticket, the eight-digit number printed on Millionaire Raffle tickets must match the eight-digit combination selected in the drawing, in the exact sequence in which it was selected.

Odds of winning a $1 million top prize are 1-in-125,000; odds of winning a $100,000 prize are 1-in-125,000; odds of winning a $1,000 prize are 1-in-3,125; and the odds of winning $100 are 1-in-80. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-78(palottery).

To date, one $100,000 prize remains unclaimed from the Dec. 30, 2006, Millionaire Raffle drawing. That ticket expires Dec. 31, 2007 (palottery).
